Subject: Consideration of Discussion for South Lake County Fire Permit Fee Waiver Request for the New District 1 Fire Station
Executive Summary:
South Lake County Fire has requested a Permit Fee Waiver associated with the new District 1 Fire Station at 19287 Hartmann Road, Hidden Valley Lake. This new fire station will replace the currently inadequate facility that was initially constructed as a volunteer station, not intended to support modern 24-hour staffing, firefighter housing or contemporary emergency response operations.
Waiving these fees will allow vital public funds to be reinvested directly into this project. Project planning and design is complete and is in the final steps of securing county approvals, positioning the project to move forward quickly upon receipt of funding. The estimated project cost is $9 million and estimated county planning and building permit fees are $27,000.
