Subject: Approve travel exceeding 1,500 miles for Dakhota Hockett, Assistant Auditor Controller, to Attend the Annual Government Finance Officers Association Conference in Washington D.C. Held June 29th to July 2nd


Executive Summary:
The Auditor's Office is requesting approval to send Ms. Hockett to the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) annual conference in Washington D.C. GFOA is the foremost expert in governmental accounting; the conference will consist of topics related to debt management, accounting and financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting, capital planning and asset management, and the newest Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB) requirements.

The conference sessions available directly relate to Ms. Hockett's position, and the information she will learn will directly benefit the Auditor-Controller Office's ability to stay in compliance with State and Federal accounting standards. All efforts to reduce costs will be made.

Therefore, pursuant to 1.3E of the County of Lake Travel Policy, we respectfully request your Board approve travel exceeding 1,500 miles to facilitate Ms. Hockett accessing the valuable information available at the conference.
