Subject: Approve Request to Waive 900 Hour Limit for Extra-Help Information Systems Analyst I, Jaden Bussard

Executive Summary:
The Information Technology Department is requesting approval to exceed the 900 hour extra-help limit for Information Systems Analyst Jaden Bussard. Funds for this position are allocated in Budget unit 1904, and there are sufficient funds available to cover additional hours. The Department will be limiting Jaden's hours to 24 hours per week so as not to exceed 130 hours per month. The employee is not a CalPERS Annuitant, and funds are available to cover CalPERS contribution costs if the employee should exceed 990 hours this fiscal year.
The Information Technology Department would like to continue to allocate additional hours, up to 24 hours per week until the end of the fiscal year, or until we fill our existing full-time vacancy for an Information Systems Analyst, which we have an open recruitment for. Currently, the employee is filling an important role in the department by providing additional Help Desk coverage and information security tasks.
