Subject: Appoint William Vance Ricks as County Surveyor
Executive Summary:
As your Board is aware, Gordon Haggitt retired as County Surveyor on August 6, 2021. As an interim measure until a permanent replacement could be hired, the board appointed Mr. Michael A. Mueller as interim County Surveyor.
We have completed the recruitment for County Surveyor and found a suitable candidate, William Vance Ricks. Mr. Ricks currently resides in Redwood Valley, and has ran his own surveying firm since 2012, with jobs in Mendocino, Sonoma, and Lake County.
The Lake County Code Chapter 2, Article V authorizes the Board of Supervisors to appoint the County Surveyor of the County of Lake. In accordance with that provision, your Board needs to appoint Mr. Michael A. Mueller, as the County of Lake, County Surveyor.
