Subject: a) Approve Agreement with Lake Marine Construction for the Abatement Services of Lakebed Structures in the amount not to exceed $250,000 and b) Authorize the Chair of the Board of Directors of the Watershed Protection District to Sign the Agreement
Executive Summary:
The Lake County Watershed Protection District (District) publically issued a Request for Quotes
(RFQ), identified as RFQ 21-13, for abatement services of nuisance lakebed structures on September 15, 2021. One (1) Proposal was received and after review and consideration, it was determined Lake Marine Construction Inc. submitted a thorough and responsive bid following County Code of Ordinance, Chapter 2, Article X. The District entered into an Agreement with Lake Marine Construction on November 16, 2021 for abatement services of nuisance lakebed structures.
Section 1. of RFQ Number 21-13 outlined the possibility of additional funding of two hundred and fifty thousand dollars and zero cents ($250,000) to be allocated to the project scope pending grant funding through the California Natural Resources Agency (CNRA). The referenced funding possibility was secured by the District from the CNRA by means of Agreement Number R18561-0, executed by CNRA and the District on August 16, 2022.
The District and Lake Marine Construction have been working diligently and effectively to accomplish the tasks and project scope as referenced by the November 16, 2021 Agreement and relating Amendment. To spend out the anticipated, outlined and secured additional funding for the reference project, the District intends to enter into a new agreement with Lake Marine Construction Inc.
