SUBJECT: a) Waive the formal bid process per Ordinance #2406, Purchasing Code 38.1, as the cost of service has not increased; b) Approve Contract between County of Lake and Lake County Office of Education for Differential Response Services in the amount of $70,000 starting July 1, 2017 through June 30, 2020; and authorize the Chair to sign.
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:
The Lake County Department of Social Services (LCDSS) began contracting with the Lake County Office of Education (LCOE) for the provision of DR services on October 1, 2007 with your Board’s approval. Since then, LCOE has continually provided services to Lake County families at risk for child abuse or neglect. LCDSS requests that your Board waive the competitive procurement requirement because there is no public benefit to do so. DR services have been provided by both LCOE and Lake Family Resource Center (LFRC) since the beginning of the program, with no increase to cost. Both LCOE and LFRC have developed services in collaboration with one another as well as our department.
