Memorandum

Date: March 7, 2023

To: The Honorable Lake County Board of Supervisors

From: Todd Metcalf, Behavioral Health Services Director

Subject: Approve Resolution Authorizing the Agreements between the County of Lake and the California Association of DUI Treatment Programs for the period of January 1, 2023 through June 30, 2024 and Authorize the Behavioral Health Director to Sign the Agreements.

Executive Summary:

Lake County Behavioral Health Services' Substance Use Disorder Program applied for and was awarded two grants in the amount of $74,900.00 for each clinic (Clearlake/South Shore and Lucerne/North Shore). These grants will support training and staff expenses for implementing a program to screen individuals seeking DUI services for opioid use disorder needs. As the Board is aware, Lake County experiences one of the highest rates of death by opioid overdose in the State of California. Thus, increasing screening and access to opioid treatment services, including Medication Assisted Treatment, is critical for the preservation of life and wellbeing in Lake County.
