Subject: Approve Award of Bid for the Chalk Mountain Bridge Replacement Project, Bid No. 23-34, Federal Aid Project No. BRLO-5914(094), with Stewart Engineering Inc, in the Amount of $6,176,906.00, and Authorize the Chair to execute the Agreement and the Notice of Award

Executive Summary:
The Purchasing Department publicly opened bids for the subject project on Thursday, August 10, 2023. Three (3) bids were received, and the apparent lowest responsible bidder was Stewart Engineering Inc., of Redding, California. Please refer to the attached bid tabulation.

The project is fully funded from the Federal Highway Bridge Program and State Toll Credits. The scope of the project is the construction of a new bridge adjacent to the existing structure, removal of the existing bridge and approximately 490 feet of roadway reconstruction with aggregate base.
