Executive Summary:

In the Fiscal Year 2023-2024 budget, the Watershed Protection District ("District"), Fund 200, Budget Unit 8109, did not account for an interfund transfer in the amount of $127,500 from the County of Lake Department of Agriculture for vegetation control and invasive species plant management. The attached budget transfer allocates the necessary appropriations to purchase needed supplies and equipment - which will be used for invasive vegetation management on the Lake County levee system and Highland Springs Recreation Area for the purposes of wildfire risk reduction, flood protection, and general maintenance. Serving as the Board of Directors of the Watershed Protection District, your board is authorized to perform this action by various sections of the Government Code, and this adjustment will make it possible for the District to complete the purchase of the needed supplies and capital fixed asset equipment.

The District also requests the authorization of a purchase order in the amount of $98,723.63 to be issued to PAPE Machinery for the purchase of a John Deere 325G skid steer as outlined in Exhibit A. The vendor (PAPE Machinery) has utilized Sourcewell, a County-approved cooperative purchasing consortium, to secure a price quotation for the equipment.
