Subject: Approve Contract between County of Lake and Backroad Hauling for Hauling Services, in the amount of $49,000 per fiscal year from July 1, 2023 to June 30, 2024, and authorize the Chair to sign.
Executive Summary:
Backroad Hauling is a Lake County flatbed transportation, equipment hauling, property cleanup and junk removal service. This contract between the Lake County Department of Social Services (LCDSS) and Backroad Hauling provides hauling and cleaning related services for Adult Service (AS) clients. Services include waste removal at client homes, junk removal, the removal and transportation of furniture, and the collection and removal of large appliances on an as needed basis. Contractor will also collect, sanitize, and remove hazardous materials from homes as required by the agreement, and will provide transportation for any other items which are deemed necessary to ensure safe housing for clients.
Social Services requested informal written quotes from five separate businesses on May 31, 2023. Only two responded, and Backroad Hauling was selected based on their pricing and promptness when submitting a bid. Backroad Hauling's bid was the only bid that was submitted on time.
