Subject: a) Approve Epidemiology and Laboratory Capacity for Prevention and Control of Emerging Infectious Diseases (ELC) Detection and Mitigation of Covid 19 in Confinement Facilities funding through the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) and (b) authorize the Chairman of the Board of Supervisors to sign the Acknowledgement Letter.
Executive Summary: The Lake County Sheriff's Office has been advised of available Epidemiology and Laboratory Capacity for Prevention and Control of Emerging Infectious Diseases (ELC) Detection and Mitigation of Covid 19 in Confinement Facilities funding through the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) in the amount of $68,979. The Lake County Jail staff has identified where the funding should be allocated and an adjustment has been made to our mid year budget.
This funding is intended to detect, diagnose, trace, and monitor COVID-19 infections, and mitigate the spread of COVID-19 in confinement facilities. Funding for these activities is covered for the period August 1, 2021 to July 31, 2024. CDPH will reimburse the County quarterly for expenditures made in accordance with the grant guidelines.
