Subject: Approve Travel Exceeding 1,500 Miles to send Jaemi Nunn to represent the Victim-Witness Office at the Northern California Coalition to Safeguard Communities (NCCSC) Human Trafficking Training in Decatur, Illinois
Executive Summary:
The District Attorney's Office respectfully requests approval to send Jaemi Nunn to represent the Victim-Witness Office at the Northern California Coalition to Safeguard Communities (NCCSC) Human Trafficking Training in Decatur, Illinois from March 23, 2026 through March 26, 2026.
This training focuses on the identification, investigation, and enforcement of human trafficking crimes in Lake County. It also emphasizes victim identification, intervention, and support services.
The Northern California Coalition to Safeguard Communities is comprised of six Northern California Sheriff's Offices, District Attorney's Offices, and Victim Advocates, working in partnership with Non-Governmental Organizations. The coalition is dedicated to collaboration aimed at preventing and deterring human trafficking within our communities. The NCCSC Board is composed of the Sheriff from each participating agency.
All costs associated with training, travel, lodging, and per diem will be coordinated and/or reimbursed by the NCCSC.
This training directly relates to the duties and responsibilities of Jaemi Nunn.
Therefore, pursuant to Section 1.3E of the County of Lake Travel Policy, I respectfully request the Board's approval for travel exceeding 1,500 miles to support Jaemi Nunn's participation in this training and to further the continued success of the Northern California Coalition to Safeguard Communities.
