Memorandum
Date: May 5, 2026
To: The Honorable Lake County Board of Supervisors
From: Brad Rasmussen, County Supervisor 4Th District
Subject: Consideration of Appointment to the Blue-Ribbon Committee for the Rehabilitation of Clear Lake
Executive Summary:
California Assembly Bill 707 (Aguiar-Curry) established the Blue-Ribbon Committee and requires that the committee include representatives from key stakeholder groups to support the rehabilitation and long-term sustainability of Clear Lake.
At this time, there is a need to fill the Agricultural seat on the Blue-Ribbon Committee. Staff recommends the appointment of Executive Director of the Lake County Farm Bureau Serena Onate to serve in this capacity. Director Onate brings relevant experience and perspective representing the agricultural community and will contribute to ensuring that agricultural interests are appropriately represented in the Committee's work.
This appointment will support balanced stakeholder representation and strengthen the Committee's ability to address issues related to water quality, land use, and resource management.
