Subject: Adopt Resolution Authorizing the Submittal for the CalRecycle Solid Waste Disposal and Codisposal Site Cleanup Grant Program, Illegal Disposal Site Abatement for ($500,000.) Five-Hundred Thousand Dollars, and Authorize Deputy Community Development Administrator Shannon Walker-Smith to Sign.
Executive Summary: CalRecycle is offering illegal dumping cleanup grant under the Solid Waste Disposal and Codisposal Site Cleanup Grant Program, Illegal Disposal Site Abatement to support projects for cleaning up illegal dumping, free dump days, demolition of unsafe dilapidated structures that are deemed structurally unsound and in danger of imminent collapse. These funds are intended to help jurisdictions like Lake County cleanup illegal dumping sites, remove dangerous structures, and blight throughout the community.
Lake County is currently in the final year of a CalRecycle Illegal Disposal grant. If successful with the grant application proposed here, Code Enforcement will continue the successful programs implemented throughout the county for an additional two (2) years.
To be eligible for grant funding, applicants must submit a formal, signed Resolution of Support. The resolution must include specific certifications, including:
* Approval to file the application;
* Agreement to accept the standard grant agreement template;
* Authorization for a designated representative to act on behalf of the County;
* Acknowledgement that the County must front the costs of the project prior to reimbursement by the State.
