Lake County 4-H Youth Highlights
Lake County 4-H is proud to showcase the achievements of three outstanding youth members: Phenix Rain, Saphera Edwards, and Emmy Hayes, who demonstrated exceptional leadership and public speaking skills through their participation in county, regional, and state 4-H Presentation Days. All three earned top honors for their presentations at the UC Davis State Presentation Day, with Phenix Rain receiving Senior Gold for "How to Paint a Mural", Saphera Edwards earning Senior Blue for "How to Make Yeast Bread", and Emmy Hayes achieving Intermediate Gold for "Wreaths Across America". Each also earned the prestigious 4-H Presentation Day pin by presenting to multiple community groups across Lake County.
In addition to their public speaking accomplishments, these youth excelled in the State 4-H Shooting Sports Archery Postal Shoot, earning Gold, Silver, and Bronze awards in their respective divisions. They also participate in the 4-H Citizenship and Leadership Group, working toward attending state and national leadership conferences, including the 2026 Ignite Conference in Washington, D.C. Fundraising efforts are underway to support these opportunities.
As part of this presentation, Emmy Hayes will deliver her award-winning talk on "Wreaths Across America."
