Subject: Consideration of the Lake County Fire Protection District Community Wildfire Protection Plan

Executive Summary:

This Community Wildfire Protection Plan (CWPP) provides the information and tools residents and agencies need to reduce catastrophic wildfires, protect vital community assets, and live in better balance with the land. This CWPP identifies wildfire risks and hazards, and actions to reduce them, in the Lake County Fire Protection District service area in the jurisdictions of the City of Clearlake and the County of Lake in Lake County, California. Sponsored by the Lake County Fire Protection District, the Lake County Fire Chiefs Association, the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (CAL FIRE), City of Clearlake and the County of Lake. The Lake County Fire Protection District CWPP represents the collective knowledge, work, and community effort of many individuals and organizations.

It is not intended to be all encompassing, rather, a living document that will be continually updated, improved, and be a foundation for funding opportunities for all agencies within and serving the Lake County Fire Protection District.
