Subject: Approve Agreement for the Placement of Juveniles in Tehama County not to exceed $250,000; and authorize the Chair to sign
Executive Summary:
On August 23, 2022, an Agreement between the County of Tehama and the County of Lake was approved by this Board for the housing of Juvenile offenders. The agreement had a cap of $150,000 per year. On April 20, 2023, this Board approved increasing the cap to $250,000 per year due to the increase of juvenile incarcerations. That Agreement expires June 30, 2024.
The Agreement before you covers the next fiscal year. The Probation Department anticipates that the cost of housing juveniles will not exceed $250,000 based on the numbers of juveniles incarcerated this past year. This amount is budgeted in next year's budget.
Tehama County has agreed to the terms of this agreement, and their Board is set to Approve on June 11, 2024.
