Date: October 7, 2025

To: The Honorable Chair, Lake County Board of Supervisors

From: Katherine Vanderwall Agricultural Commissioner Sealer of Weights and Measures

Subject: Adopt Resolution Approving Agreement # 24-0469-019-SF with the California Department of Food Agriculture for the Glassy-Winged Sharpshooter (GWSS) Program in the amount of $43,975.17 for the period of July 1, 2025, through September 30, 2026.

Executive Summary:

I would like to ask the Board to adopt the attached resolution approving the agreement with the California Department of Food and Agriculture for the Glassy-Winged Sharpshooter (GWSS) Agreement for the period of July 1, 2025 - September 30, 2026, in the amount of $43,975.17. This agreement includes reimbursement for trapping, inspection, and control of the Glassy Wing Sharpshooter. The Glassy Wing Sharpshooter is a serious pest to wine grapes because it carries Pierce's Disease, which is detrimental to the wine grape industry.

Should the Board adopt the proposed Resolution, please have the chair sign one (1) original of the standard agreement form and one (1) copy of the Board Resolution and return them to the Agricultural Department for further processing. A signed, completed copy will be returned for your records.
