Subject: Approve Amendment Two of Agreement Between the County of Lake and 360 Junk Removal & Hauling to Increase Annual Compensation by $100,000; for a Total Compensation Not to Exceed $250,000 for Abatement Services, and Authorize the Chair to Sign.
Executive Summary: The original agreement between the County of Lake and 360 Junk Removal & Hauling for Abatement Services was approved by the Director of the Community Development Department and the Agreement for Abatement Services commenced on July 1, 2024. Since then, 360 Junk removal & Hauling has been a valuable partner to perform Abatement Services and were a vital partner in the success of the Free Dump Days hosted by the Community Development Department (CDD) in Nice.
The capacity of 360 Junk removal & Hauling is above and beyond the capacity of the other Abatement Services Contractors and for this reason they are an important partner in performing large projects effectively and reliably. To ensure that we have the capacity to deliver on the CalRecycle Grant objectives to clean up Illegal Dumping in Lake County, it is vital we have the resources and expertise of 360 Junk Removal & Hauling available to us.
On May 13th the Board approved Amendment One to the Agreement for Abatement Services, increasing the contract limit from $100,000 to $150,000. This has ensured we maintain the pace of abatements and Free Dump Days funded by the CalRecycle Grant. The success of the activities funded by the grant program and the speed at which 360 Junk Removal and Hauling is able to complete abatements has allowed for increases in abatements as well as successful Free Dump Days in Nice, Lucerne, and Clearlake Oaks.
