Subject:                     Adopt Resolution Authorizing the 2020-21 Grant Project-Lake County Victim Witness Assistance Program and Authorize the Chair to Sign the Certification and Assurance of Compliance

 

Executive Summary: (include fiscal and staffing impact narrative):

The California Office of Emergency Services (CalOES) has released the request for application for the Victim Witness Assistance Grant which will reimburse costs of up to $336,313.  CalOES  has guaranteed that they will waive 100% of the $78,086 of matching funds.  This will mark the 35th year that the Victim Witness Division of the Lake County District Attorney’s Office has been funded.  The grant period will run from October 1, 2020-September 30, 2021 and will pay for the majority of personnel and operating cost.
