DESIGNATING THE MONTH OF AUGUST 2026 AS CHILD SUPPORT AWARENESS MONTH
WHEREAS, Child Support Awareness Month is proudly observed each August in California and across the nation, recognizing the essential role child support plays in strengthening families, enhancing children's wellbeing, and promoting services and policies that help parents provide consistent and meaningful support; and
WHEREAS, This annual observance reminds us of our shared responsibility to champion resources, fairness, and collaboration, so every child has the opportunity to thrive; and
WHEREAS, Lake County Child Support Services has recently made extraordinary progress, advancing more in the past five years than in the previous five decades, and these improvements have created a system that is more equitable, more modern, and more responsive to the needs of families; and
WHEREAS, Lake County's Child Support Services team is committed to continuing reforms, supporting policies that promote fairness, expand access, and reinforce family stability, and the program continues to offer free assistance to parents who pay child support and ensure services remain low-cost or cost-free for those who depend on them, helping families build long-term security and success; and
