Subject: Consideration and Discussion Involving the Recruitment Process for Filling the Vacancy Created by the County Counsel’s Retirement Announcement
Executive Summary:
On January 25, 2023, your Board received County Counsel Anita Grant’s intention to retire on March 24, 2023 after 31 years in the County Counsel’s Office, 17 years of which she served as County Counsel. Staff proposes the following two options for your Board’s consideration.
Options:
1. Promotional only recruitment - 5 day recruitment used to establish an eligibility list in which qualification for application is limited to current permanent and extra help employees in county service.
2. Open recruitment - 10 day recruitment which is a competitive process used to establish an eligibility list in which any qualified applicant may participate.
