Subject: EXTRA ITEM: (a) Consideration of "extra" agenda item, and (b) Consideration to Hold Special Meetings in March, 2023 to Interview County Counsel Candidates in Closed Session and Select a Date
Executive Summary:
(a) This item is being submitted as an "extra" agenda item. The justification for this request to consider an item not on the posted agenda is as follows:
This item came to my attention subsequent to the posting of the current agenda and there is a need to take action before the next agenda.
(b) On January 25, 2023, your Board received County Counsel Anita Grant's intention to retire on March 24, 2023. On February 7, 2023, your Board selected an Open Recruitment which allows for a 10-day recruitment time which closed on February 16, 2023. The County received 4 qualified candidates for your Board's review.
Due to the length of time to interview 4 candidates, staff recommends scheduling 1 or 2 Special Meeting dates. The Board Chambers are available on the following dates and times:
First Interview - In-person:
Friday, March 10, 2023; 9:00 - 1:00 PM
1:00 - 5:00 PM
Second Interview - in-person (If needed):
Friday, March 17, 2023; 9:00 - 1:00 PM
Reserved (on calendar) 1:00 - 5:00 PM
Monday, March 20, 2023; 9:00 - 1:00 PM
