Memorandum
Date: May 7, 2024
To: The Honorable Lake County Board of Supervisors
From: Anthony Arton, Health Services Director
Subject: Adopt Resolution Amending Resolution No. 2023-117 Establishing Position Allocations for Fiscal Year 2023-2024, Budget Unit No. 4011 Public Health
Executive Summary:
This position allocation resolution will add two Health Program Coordinator allocations to budget unit 4011 to support the SafeRx, California Children's Services (CCS), and Medical Therapy Programs (MTP).
The SafeRx functions are currently coordinated by our Deputy Public Health Director in collaboration with an AmeriCorps Vista. Adding this allocation will allow staff to return to assigned duties while supporting consistency in the program. The SafeRx allocation will be fully funded by existing SafeRx grant funds.
The CCS and MTP programs require additional coordination and administrative support to maintain compliance with state requirements, coordinate clinic days, and train others. Currently, a Health Admin Staff Services Analyst (SSA) is filling in this role while also working to maintain current grant reporting required of their permanent position, creating an overtime burden. Adding this allocation will allow the SSA to return to Admin/grant reporting duties while allowing us to fill this urgently needed role. This allocation will be funded by the CCS & MTP programs at a percentage, with other grant funding (Future of Public Health) covering the remainder.
