Subject: Consideration of Agreement between the County of Lake and Dewberry Architects, Inc., for Architectural/Engineering Services for the Remodel of the Former California Army National Guard Armory
Executive Summary:
In 2022, the Public Services Department, in coordination with the Sheriff's Office, solicited proposals from qualified firms to provide comprehensive architectural/engineering services for conversion of the former California Army National Guard Armory facility into space that will support Lake County Sheriff's patrol and administrative staff including, but not limited to: office space, training rooms, records storage, evidence storage and evidence processing.
The request for proposals resulted in seven proposals being received. A consultant selection committee was convened in accordance with the County's consultant selection policy, and the committee's unanimous recommendation was to award the project to the highest ranked firm, Dewberry Architects. Staff has completed negotiations with Dewberry Architects and recommends your Board's approval of the attached agreement for a feasibility assessment, program development, and schematic design in an amount not to exceed $247,926.00. Funding for the project is included in Budget Unit 1785 - Sheriff / Public Safety Facilities.
