Subject: Approve Request to Waive 900 Hour Limit for Extra-Help Water Resources Ramp Monitors Anthony DeBolt, John MacDonald, Robert Dragness, Frank Levings Jr., Wayne Moore, Kenneth Wikstrom, and the two ramp coordinators Albert Acrey and Robert Valdez

Executive Summary:

The Water Resources Department is requesting the approval to exceed the 900 hour extra-help limit for several ramp monitors Anthony DeBolt, John MacDonald, Robert Dragness, Frank Levings Jr., Wayne Moore, Kenneth Wikstrom, and the two ramp coordinators Albert Acrey and Robert Valdez. Funds for these positions are allocated under Budget Unit 8109, and sourced through several State Division of Boating and Waterways Quagga Mussel Prevention grants, and a federal grant through the US Fish and Wildlife Service. Between these current grants, there are sufficient funds to cover these requests. If this request is approved, hours are not to exceed 999.

February through June is the busiest season for ramp monitoring as this period is when we see large volumes of boats that come into the county for pre-fishing prior to the majority of fishing tournaments. We have seen more tournaments this year with all public ramps being open and significant water levels that are generally expected to provide for good fishing conditions as well as other water-based events.

Thank you for your consideration on waiving the 900-hour limit for Extra-Help Water Resources ramp monitoring staff for Anthony DeBolt, John MacDonald, Robert Dragness, Frank Levings Jr., Wayne Moore, ...
