SUBJECT: Approve Resolution Adopting a Side Letter of Agreement to the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) by and Between the SEIU Local 2015 Union and the Lake County IHSS Public Authority; and authorize the Chair to sign.
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:
The current Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the SEIU LOCAL 2015 and the Lake County IHSS Public Authority was effective from February 1, 2014 to September 30, 2016 and is proposed to be extended, by approval of the Side Letter of Agreement, through March 31, 2017. There are no revisions to the current MOU between the parties.
We recommend your Board approve the Resolution Adopting the Side Letter of Agreement signed by the Union on December 16, 2016 authorizing the Chair of the IHSS Public Authority Board of Directors to execute the Side Letter on behalf of the County. In addition to approval of the Resolution, we need two signed originals of the Side Letter returned to the department for distribution to SEIU LOCAL 2015 and to the Public Authority.

RECOMMENDED ACTION:
We recommend your Board approve the Resolution Adopting the Side Letter of Agreement signed by the Union on December 16, 2016 authorizing the Chair of the IHSS Public Authority Board of Directors to execute the Side Letter on behalf of the County. In addition to approval of the Resolution, we need two signed originals of the Side Letter returned to the department for distribution to SEIU LOCAL 2015 and to the Public Authority.
