SUBJECT: Approve Long Distance Travel to the Western Aquatic Plant Management Society from March 13, 2017 through March 17, 2017 to Coeur D’Alene, Idaho for Carolyn Ruttan, Invasive Species Program Coordinator.
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: Carolyn Ruttan, Invasive Species Program Coordinator, is a director of the Western Aquatic Plant Management Society. Her participation in this regional conference assures representation of Lake County as well as an opportunity for Carolyn to keep abreast of current development and advances in aquatic plant management and control. As occurs at any regional conference, in addition to presentation of professional papers, there exists the opportunity to interact with colleagues and other nuisance plant managers who experience similar challenges as we do here in Lake County.
Travel and all associated costs, including registration, airfare, meals, baggage fees, ground transportation, hotel, personal mileage and airport parking are fully funded through the Lakebed Management budget unit 1672.
As Water Resources Director, I fully support Ms. Ruttan’s attendance at this event.
