SUBJECT: Approve Amendment No. 1 to the Agreement for Consultant Services with Stephan Betz in the amount of $11,560 for Behavioral Health Consulting Services; and authorize the Chair to sign.
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: On December 13, 2016, an Agreement with Stephan Betz was entered into for professional consulting services to assist the County in enhancing its coordination of Behavioral Health practices.
The consultant will also review mental health cost settlements and mental health cost reports for the past seven (7) fiscal years and provide recommendations to improve billing performance and productivity.
The original Agreement was limited to 180 hours of services which has been found to be insufficient and thus the Amendment No. 1 would increase the hours of service to 278 at $120 per hour inclusive of all contractors’ expenses. Staff is seeking approval to increase the maximum compensation to $33,360 and extend the term of the existing Agreement by one month, ending June 30, 2017.
