SUBJECT: Consideration of Agreement between the County of Lake and North Coast Opportunities for Valley Fire Survivor Stable Housing Assistance
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:
As your Board is aware, in December of last year we received a grant from the Golden State Finance Authority (GSFA) to be used for the purpose of providing stable housing to individuals and families displaced due to loss of their primary residence within the State and Federal declared disaster area of the Valley fire.
Pursuant to this agreement, North Coast Opportunities (NCO) has graciously agreed to manage and disperse grant funds to Valley fire survivors. This second GSFA agreement, in contrast to the first agreement, provides housing down payment assistance, energy efficiency, and other financing programs with a maximum amount of $2,500 per survivor household. In addition, this second agreement allows NCO the ability to claim up to 5% in administrative fees. NCO has been an incredible partner throughout disaster response and recovery, and up to now, has provided all assistance without cost. NCO is to be commended for its efforts.
