SUBJECT: Adopt Resolution Declaring Duty Weapons as Surplus to the Needs of the County and Authorizing Purchasing Agent to Sell Said Weapons
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: The Sheriff’s Department requests to declare 44 Ruger Mini-14 rifles as surplus to our needs and authorize the sale to King’s Firearms and More Law Enforcement Division, a Federal Firearms Licensed dealer. The Sheriff’s Department obtained two separate quotes with King’s being the high bidder at $385.00 per weapon. King’s will provide Adamson Industries with a credit in the amount of $17,005 from which the department will be able to purchase items not currently budgeted in the department’s budget.
