SUBJECT:                                          Consideration of Letter of Support for Assembly Bill (AB) 707 (Aguiar-Curry)

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:

Assemblymember Cecilia Aguiar-Curry authored AB 707, which would establish the Blue Ribbon Committee for the Rehabilitation of Clear Lake.  This body would establish accountability standards and put Clear Lake on a tangible path toward recovery.  Given that Clear Lake is a cornerstone of the County economy, a structured response to environmental hazards that threaten its usability is essential.  AB 707 represents a very positive step.
