SUBJECT: (a) Authorize the purchase of two (2) 2017 Subaru Foresters pursuant to the attached features; and (b) Authorize the Behavioral Health Administrator to issue a purchase order to Hansel Subaru in the amount of $51,655.36.
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: During the recent mid-year budget review, the members of your board authorized a change to Lake County Behavioral Health's (LCBH's) request for vehicle purchase. Instead of purchasing four (4) AWD sedans, LCBH is requesting the authorization to purchase two (2) AWD SUVs. Our department is in need of vehicles that have the ability to transport clients safely to locations such as Cobb Mountain and Lake Pillsbury during poor weather or other potentially unsafe conditions.
The State of California recommended purchase list did not accommodate the specific needs of our department. Therefore, staff recommends the purchase of two (2) 2017 Subaru Foresters.
Attached you will find the quotes acquired in support of the purchase of these Foresters as well as exterior, interior, mechanical and safety standard features. Also, please note the purchase of two (2) 2017 Subaru Foresters as opposed to four (4) sedans will save funds in the mid-year budget.

FISCAL IMPACT (Narrative): The total amount budgeted in the mid-year budget for LCBH to purchase vehicles is $120,000 of which LCBH is requesting the approval to purchase two (2) 2017 Subaru Foresters for the total amount of $51,655.36.
