SUBJECT: (a) Approve Long Distance Travel from June 11, 2017 through June 13, 2017 to the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) in Atlanta, Georgia for Jessica Hamner, Program Coordinator, Public Health Division and (b) Approve Long Distance Travel from June 13, 2017 through June 17, 2017 to Albuquerque, New Mexico for Jessica Hamner, Program Coordinator, Public Health Division

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:

(a) Jessica Hamner, Program Coordinator in the Public Health Accreditation Program was selected to participate in the 2017 CDC E-Learning Institute in Atlanta, Georgia. Ms. Hamner was selected from a large pool of worldwide applicants, of which only 12 were chosen. The CDC E-Learning Institute (ELI) is a 4 month online fellowship designed to cultivate skills of public health training professionals with limited experience designing or developing e-learning products. Through partnership with the Public Health Foundations, ELI offers access to CDC-developed materials and subject matter experts, as well as the opportunity to learn from peers.
Travel to the E-Learning Fellowship Final Showcase is fully covered by the Public Health Institute as part of the fellowship program and all associated costs, including airfare, meals, airline baggage fees, ground transportation, hotel and airport parking are covered by the Public Health Foundation. There is no cost to the Department or to the County.
(b) Jessica Hamner, Program Coordinator in the Public Health Accreditation Program has also been invited to attend the Public Health Improvement Training (PHIT) in Albuquerque, New Mexico and will be learning Mobilizing for Action through Planning and Partnerships (MAPP).
