SUBJECT: Approve Long Distance Travel for Section 8 Program Manager to Attend Housing Choice Voucher Program Management Training in Phoenix, Arizona June 27-29, 2017.
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:
I am requesting Board approval to have Edgar Perez, Section 8 Program Manager, attend Housing Choice Voucher Program Management training, which will be held in Phoenix, Arizona June 27- 29, 2017. This training will address important topics such as the revision of the administrative plan, waitlist management, and SEMAP, which is HUD's annual report card of each Housing Authority.
As you are aware, Section 8 is a Federal Program and therefore training opportunities in California are difficult to come by. As we have had turnover in a key position in our Housing Unit, it is imperative that we provide the training necessary to maintain the High Performance status we have attained throughout the years.
