SUBJECT: Approve the Training Services Agreement between the County of Lake and the University of California, Davis in the Amount of $54,187.50; and authorize the Chair to Sign.
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:
As your Board is aware, the Lake County Department of Social Services (LCDSS) is currently contracting with University of California, Davis (UCD) for Safety Organized Practice (SOP) training and coaching for use in Child Welfare Services (CWS). Lake County CWS was an early implementer of SOP practices, which is now a standard case management practice in the State of California. UCD has been providing these services to LCDSS and community partners since January 15, 2015.
CDSS encourages the counties to use their regional training academy to provide staff training. UCD operates the regional training academy for Northern California, including Lake County, and has extensive experience providing social services training and coaching.
