SUBJECT: Approve Contract between the County of Lake and the Lake County Office of Education for Probation Family PRO Services in the Amount of $36,000 starting July 1, 2017 through June 30, 2018; and authorize the Chair to Sign.
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:
Probation Family PRO (Positive Response and Outcomes) provides preventive services to families with youth identified by the Probation Department of being at risk of entering the juvenile justice system. As your Board is aware, the Lake County Office of Education (LCOE) Healthy Start Program has provided these services since July 1, 2010. LCDSS administers the contract because the funding for Probation Family PRO is provided by the California Department of Social Services. The funding combines Child Welfare Services Outcome Improvement Project (CWSOIP) and Supportive Therapeutic Options Program (STOP) funds. A 30% match for the STOP funds will be provided by LCOE using existing staff. This is an opportunity for the County, with no expenditure of County funds, to provide preventive services to families with youth who might otherwise enter the Probation system. The term of this Contract is July 1, 2017 through June 30, 2018.
