SUBJECT: Approve Letter of Opposition to AB 1250 (Jones-Sawyer), County Contracts for Personal Services.
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:
As your Board may be aware, AB 1250 proposes new requirements for the performance monitoring of County contracts. This bill would apply to all new and existing contracts, and could impact and may interrupt delivery of many County services. Some transportation projects may be delayed, for example. New reporting requirements, including disclosure of names and wage information regarding a contractor’s employees, may discourage some qualified entities from applying for contracts.
CSAC advises, and staff recommends, that your Board approve and sign the attached Letter of Opposition to AB 1250 (Jones-Sawyer), County Contracts for Personal Services.
