SUBJECT: Approve the Agreement between the County of Lake and North Valley Behavioral Health, LLC. for Acute Inpatient Psychiatric Hospital Services for Fiscal Year 2017-18 in the amount of $200,000 and Authorize the Board Chair to sign the Agreement.
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: Attached, for your approval, is the Agreement between the County of Lake and North Valley Behavioral Health, LLC. for Acute Inpatient Psychiatric Hospital Services for Fiscal Year 2017-18.
BACKGROUND AND DISCUSSION: North Valley Behavioral Health, LLC. provides inpatient psychiatric emergency services to clients referred by Lake County Behavioral Health (LCBH) who require inpatient interventions to treat a psychiatric crisis or other acute mental health problem. These services are available in a 24-hour care, non-hospital setting to referred adults in order to focus on a program of prompt intervention, assessment, and stabilization of the individual's psychiatric crisis/episode either voluntarily or involuntarily.
North Valley Behavioral Health, LLC. is the closest Psychiatric Health Facility to Lake County. As LCBH has contracted with this vendor for many years and has established a strong working relationship, LCBH is requesting to waive the formal bidding process, pursuant to Lake County Code Section 38.2 as it is not in the public interest due to the unique nature of goods or services.

FISCAL IMPACT (Narrative): The total amount budgeted for Behavioral Health Facilities for Fiscal Year 2017-18 is $400,000 of which LCBH is requesting approval of the Agreement with North Valley Behavioral Health, LLC. for Fiscal Year 2017-18 for a contract maximum of $200,000.
