SUBJECT:                     Consideration of an Ordinance Authorizing an Extended Idle Speed Zone near Shore during High Water on Clear Lake

 

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: During the extended flood conditions and high water experienced in January, February and March, 2017 the County adopted an urgency ordinance to slow boats to idle speed within a quarter mile of shore to prevent damage to the shoreline, residences and other structures. The ordinance proposed herein would make permanent the extended idle speed zone in high water conditions (8.0’R).
