SUBJECT: Consideration of County Employee Benefit Plans - EIA Health, Dental, Vision and Life Renewal for 2018
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:
The County employees’ health, dental, vision and life insurance plans are renewed annually. We are, again, happy to report that cost containment has been achieved by our participation in EIA Health.
Detailed rates for the 2018 plan year are attached and are summarized as follows:
EIA Health 2.4% increase
Delta Dental 2.7% decrease
VSP Vision no increase
VOYA Life no increase
MHN EAP no increase
The County is also pleased to report that we will be able to continue with the EIA Health - Carrum Health option for 2018 at no cost to the County or employees. The cost for this program is being picked up by EIA Health for 2018.

RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Staff requests that your Board:
1) Approve the Group Insurance Committee’s recommendation to renew the EIA Health, Dental, Vision and Life insurance plans for 2018; and
2) Authorize the Human Resources Director to execute renewal documents for the 2018 plan year.
