SUBJECT: Authorize the County Librarian to Close the County Library - Lakeport Branch August 8th through 12th due to Carpet Installation, to reopen as soon as it’s safe for the public to enter the Library lobby.
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:
To facilitate safe and efficient installation of new carpet at the Lakeport branch of the Lake County Library I am requesting that authority be granted to the County Librarian to close the Lakeport Library as necessary for an additional week from August 8th through August 12th.
Upon removal of the old carpet in the main section, the installers found large cracks in the floor of the library that needed to be sealed before work could continue. As the carpet installers continue to remove carpet in additional sections of the library more cracks may be found that also need to be sealed. This has added additional time to the schedule for completion of the carpet installation.
As soon as it’s safe to do so it’s my intention to open the lobby area of the library for limited library service so patrons can pick up requested materials from the library circulation desk.
