SUBJECT: (a) Discussion of Building Division Staffing Issues; and (b) Consideration of Contract for Services Between Lake County and Bureau Veritas
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:
In the absence of the Community Development Director, I have prepared this memorandum for the consideration of your Board. As was expressed during the public input portion of your 08/08/17 agenda, there is concern on the part of your constituents regarding position vacancies in the Building Division of the Community Development Department and the impact these vacancies are having on recovery in the burn areas, as well as on the local economy. Discussion is requested with your Board and the Community Development Director to ensure these concerns are addressed and resolved.
At this time, the CDD Director is also requesting your Board’s consideration of the attached Contract for Services with Bureau Veritas for “Building Division Services”. The term of this contract is for twelve months ending 07/31/18, with maximum compensation not to exceed $250,000. Please refer to Exhibit “A”, which references pages 16 through 24 for the menu of services to be provided by the Contractor.
