SUBJECT: Approval of 2017 Emergency Management Performance Grant (EMPG), EMPG Governing Body Resolution and Standard Grant Assurances.

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:
The Sheriff's Department is requesting approval to submit the Emergency Management Performance Grant (EMPG) application for FY 2017. The amount of this grant totals $138,200 and has a 100% county match. This grant will pay a portion of salaries for employees budgeted in 2201 that perform emergency management duties. The grant assurances are required to be signed by one of the Authorized Agents listed on the Governing Body Resolution. Each page must also be initialed in blue ink. It is requested that Your Board authorize the Sheriff to sign the Grant SubAward Face Sheet and the County Administrative Officer, Carol J. Huchingson to act as the Authorized Agent on behalf of the County and sign the attached grant assurances and governing body resolution.

FISCAL IMPACT (Narrative): These monies have been budgeted in the Sheriff/OES budget 2704. The County match has been budgeted in the Sheriff/Coroner budget 2201. A modification will be required in the Sheriff/OES budget 2704 for FY2017/18 and will be made prior to final budgets.

STAFFING IMPACT (if applicable): These funds reimburse the Sheriff/Coroner budget 2201 for a portion of salaries for employees in this budget that perform emergency management duties.
