SUBJECT: Consideration of a Resolution Authorizing The Lake County Watershed Protection District to Lease Properties in the Middle Creek Restoration Project Area for Agricultural Use.
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: The Watershed Protection District recent acquired an additional 300+ acres in the Middle Creek Restoration Project area. Until additional funds are provided by the state to complete acquisition of all property in the area, it is in the best interest of the District and the County to lease the properties for agricultural use. This will provide modest income for the District and help maintain security in the project area.
The levees and roads will be available for use by the Konocti Regional Trails group, but hikers must respect the agricultural property boundaries.
