MEMORANDUM
TO: Board of Supervisors
FROM: Moke Simon, District 1 Supervisor
DATE: September 12, 2017
SUBJECT: Approve Letter of Support asking the Regional Water Quality Board to Lift the Hidden Valley Lake Community Services District (CSD) Water System Meter Moratorium, and authorize all five Board members to sign
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:
As you may be aware, the Hidden Valley Lake Community Services District (CSD) received a Compliance Order October 17, 2014, from the State Water Resources Control Board, Division of Drinking Water. This called for moratorium on new water meters in the area served by Hidden Valley Lake CSD, due to severe drought conditions. Governor Brown removed those conditions earlier this year.
I recommend that our Board approve and we each sign the attached Letter of Support, asking Regional Water Quality Board to lift the moratorium, providing many Valley Fire survivors and others an important opportunity to build new homes, a critical step in our ongoing journey of Valley Fire recovery.
