SUBJECT: Adopt the Resolution of Opposition to AB 1250
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:
As your Board is aware, AB 1250 is an active bill in the California State Legislature, which, if passed, would severely threaten the County’s ability to contract for essential services.
Your Board will recall that you approved a Letter of Opposition on June 20, 2017. Staff recommends taking further formal action now, given the gravity of this bill.
In spite of round opposition from County governments, and significant efforts on the part of the California State Association of Counties (CSAC) to clarify the potential widespread effects of such a bill upon many of California’s most vulnerable, efforts are ongoing to pass AB 1250.
Adoption of this Resolution will cement our ongoing opposition to this bill.
