SUBJECT: Consideration of Appointment of Ad Hoc Committee to Meet with the Lake County Chamber of Commerce Regarding the Advancement of our Community via a Pro-Business Climate
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:
On September 21, 2017, I received a letter from the Lake County Chamber of Commerce expressing a desire to ensure the advancement of our Community via a pro-business climate, promoting the community and representing the voice of the community with the goal of furthering business and commercial interests.
The Chamber has requested our Board form an ad hoc committee to meet and discuss these issues. On our October 3rd agenda, I am requesting our Board consider appointing two Board members to this committee, along with selected Department Heads and staff. In addition, since the Chamber desires to promote business in all of Lake County, I recommend we direct staff to reach out to representatives from the two cities, if the Chamber has not already done so, to request that they become a part of this effort as well.

RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Appoint two Board members to serve on an ad hoc committee to promote a pro-business climate in Lake County. Possible direction to staff to reach out to city representatives to join this effort.
