SUBJECT: Approve Contract between County of Lake and Lake Family Resource Center for CalWORKs Domestic Violence Services in the Amount of $25,000 (twenty-five thousand dollars), from July 1, 2017 to June 30, 2018; and authorize the Chair to Sign.
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:
Lake County Department of Social Services (LCDSS) has contracted with Lake Family Resource Center (LFRC) since January 2000 to provide Domestic Violence (DV) counseling services to California Work Opportunity and Responsibility to Kids (CalWORKs) recipients, and DV training to CalWORKs Eligibility and Employment Services staff. LFRC is the only agency in the County to provide comprehensive DV services, including counseling, shelter, and hot-line services. LFRC has satisfactorily performed contracted DV services to date. The last time LCDSS issued a Request for Proposals for these services in 2008, LFRC was the only responder. Given these facts, we request that your Board waive the County Consultant Selection Procedure for CalWORKs DV services. The total compensation for this contract is twenty-five thousand dollars ($25,000.00). These funds are approved in our budget and there is no County cost.
