SUBJECT:                     Appoint the County Administrative Officer (CAO) as the designated representative for our unrepresented labor groups regarding salaries, salary schedules or compensation paid in the form of fringe benefits

 

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:

 

The Lake County Sheriff Management Unit has submitted a request for recognition as the exclusively recognized employee organization for Sheriff’s Management.  California Government Code Section 54957.6(a) requires designation of a local agency representative regarding salaries, salary schedules, or compensation paid in the form of fringe benefits to its represented or unrepresented employees prior to your Board being allowed to consider such matters in Closed Session.

 

This is the first request of this nature from an unrepresented management group.  Given the potential for other unrepresented groups to come forward with similar requests, staff recommends your Board designate the CAO as the designated representative for any such unrepresented groups.
